RBS850 V4.6.3.16_2.0.51 WIFI disconnects
Struggling with a new RBR/S850 setup on V4.6.3.16_2.0.51. 2nd set of devices as I returned the 1st ones. The RBS is about 80+ feet, 2 exterior walls and 1 floor apart - hard wired to the RBR. Symptom is the RBS keeps dropping wifi for 30-60 seconds at a time throughout the day. The SSID is still broadcasting but it drops connected devices HOWEVER it keeps the wired devices up and running. The RBS doesn't reboot or power cycle, it just comes back up on it's own and the devices reconnect. Read a few posts on reserved IP's, I have 2 reserved but that's it. Power on the the system is set to 25%, everything else is set to factory defaults. 2.4 ghz channel is auto 5 ghz is 48. Anyone else seen this issue? Suggestions?

With that much distance, you can use full 100% power. Especially since the satellite hardwired in.
Have you tried the newer firmware? Its had pretty good reviews.

I've tried 4.6.7.5 with the first set and had simliar issues. Waiting for them to pick up this case before I mess with hardware. Been dropping all day today.

Re: RBS850 V4.6.3.16_2.0.51 WIFI disconnects
Have you factory reset the RBS and RBR and setup from scratch after v5 FW was applied?
Are the RBS directly ethernet connected to the back of the RBR or is there a LAN switch in between?
What CAT# cabling is being used for the ethernet connected RBS?
What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Re: RBS850 V4.6.3.16_2.0.51 WIFI disconnects
Factory reset? - Not on the new set, 2 days old, just with firmware update and restarted using the app.
RBS is hardwired to the RBR with cat6 directly. Cat6 used in all connections.
Auto for 2.4ghz and 48 for the 5ghz.
Some neighbors with wifi, closest is over 300ft away.

Did the FW update include v5, the one here posted in this forum?

No, since this is a new set and I had been working with NG I was waiting for them before I used a different version. If you think it would help, I'll find it and pull it down to install.

v16 has been problematic for most most users. Were seeing way better results with v5

Re: RBS850 V4.6.3.16_2.0.51 WIFI disconnects
I installed FW V4.6.7.5_2.1.7, still getting the WIFI disconnects, not sure if it's as often but it's for far less time now. Seems to be better in the early morning and then get worse as the day goes on. Still not getting anywhere with support.
Problem is still on the satellite only, dropping the broadcast / signal of the SSID. Wired connections have no issue and there are no issues on the devices connected to the RBR. Removed the 1 device that was using a static IP address as well to rule that out. Any other suggestions out there?

Re: RBS850 V4.6.3.16_2.0.51 WIFI disconnects
Did you power OFF both RBR and RBS after loading v5?
Might try a full on factory reset of the RBR and RBS and setup from scatch.
Try setting channels to 1 and 40.
Does the RBS have disconnections even if you bring the RBS into 30 feet range and let it wirelessly connect instead of wired backhaul?

No. just clears out any user configurations and maybe any lingering FW code that shouldn't be there.

Heard of some WiFi lights can cause problems or interferences.

Re: RBS850 V4.6.3.16_2.0.51 WIFI disconnects
Apple TV, 2 laptops, 1 samsung tv and 1 yamaha receiver.
NG Tech last night had me adjust strength from 25% to 50 and preamble to short. Also was going to escalate to Tier 3 now. Haven't had a drop but it's only been 30 minutes so far this am.
Side note, besides ping on cmd line, has anyone used a good home tool that will log the ping -t / failures without writing a powershell script?

Had you been using 25% transmit power all this time?

Re: RBS850 V4.6.3.16_2.0.51 WIFI disconnects
No, started at 100%. 1st set the L2 support said drop it down. The satellite is in a 40x40 building, 14ft ceilings with a loft, no walls. most devices are within 40 line of site and signal was full at 25% on the devices. No noticed failures yet this am.

Re: RBS850 V4.6.3.16_2.0.51 WIFI disconnects
120 ft or so CAT6, directly wired to the RBR. through a floor, 2 exterior walls... so linear about 70 ft or so.

Ok.
See how running at 50% does for you. I have mine at 50% for a while now. Techincally you can try 100% aswell. Let see how it does for now.

There is a great tool for Windows that will ping any number of IP's and log any failures: PingInfoView by Nirsoft:
https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/multiple_ping_tool.html
I have run it for as long as a week. (Looking for 'proof' that Denial of Service (DoS) attacks would cause interruption of internet service. No such luck. Pinging 10 internet URL's almost never failed, while several of my Internet of Things devices were more erratic.)

Re: RBS850 V4.6.3.16_2.0.51 WIFI disconnects
Two main things that can cause disconnections:
1. Bad Internet connection, or modem/gateway setup. Make sure you don’t have double NAT or multiple DHCP provisioning.
2. Bad devices connected to your nodes, mainly wired but also wireless devices can cause issues. Devices that have both Ethernet and wifi interfaces must be carefully handled (please check your Yamaha receiver). Some wireless devices that were connected to another system need to be factory reset before connecting to Orbi. Mesh audio devices (like Sonos) must have correct setup. Devices that have built in DHCP functionality must be correctly configured. Devices that have own wifi transmission must also be correctly configured.

Re: RBS850 V4.6.3.16_2.0.51 WIFI disconnects
Still struggling with the same issue. Now using Firmware V4.6.7.13_2.1.9, and continut to lose the SSID broadcast from the satellite only. I have re-opened a ticket with NG and I can't even get them to reply. It was supposed to get back to Tier 3 but they are just ignoring it. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get help? And yes, powered and factory reset everything each time I've done the refresh or FW upgrade.
