Since Last Update RBK753 Is Working, But I No Longer Have App Or Browser Access...

My RBK753 system is running off of a CM1100 modem. On a measured 900+mbps connection, my measured WiFi speeds around the house have always been in the 450mbps range, which has always been plenty, though I did wonder where the other half of my speed had gone.

I've had this system for a few years now. I did its initial setup and all subsequent maintenance through the browser connection, without issue. Settings/maintenance and updates were no problem. Then, THE APP arrived. Every time I've tried to update this system using the app, there have been issues, glitches, etc. I learned this lesson early on, and so went back to using the still-reliable browser connection, with no further issues.

Awhile back, the app itself was updated. When I opened the new version, it said there was an new update waiting for my ORBI. I gritted my teeth, closed my eyes, and clicked "Update". The process was, again, a bit glitchy...but it DID complete, and when the system came back up, my in-house WiFi speeds had increased into the 650mbps range! I closed the app and called it a really good day. The next day, I reopened the app to check something...and it couldn't connect to/find my ORBI system! Cursing myself for trusting this stupid app when I already knew better, I went to use the browser connection instead...and it can't find the ORBI either!

I've been running the system for months now while locked out of it, which is really inconvenient because ever since this system update, the router has been shutting down and rebooting itself a couple of time each day. I'm hoping that someone here will have a suggestion on how I should proceed. When I bought it, the system wasn't cheap, and when it was working normally, it was more than adequate to my needs. I'll replace it with something newer if I have to, but I'd rather be able to continue with it...

Thanks in advance for any help you guys may provide.

Can you please give more information about this:

  • How is the web interface being accessed?
computer/laptop that is 'wired' to the router?
computer/laptop connected to the system with WiFi?
  • the web browser is attempting to access:
    using a URL (http://orbilogin.net )? or
using the IP address of the Orbi router (usually 192.168.1.1)?
  • Does "can't find" mean that the web browser responds with an error message?
i.e. the login box does not appear.

If the web interface appears but the password is not accepted, there are two potential solutions.

What FW version is loaded?

How was the system updated? Thru Orbi app or WEB UI?

What browser are you using?

What mobile platform are you using? Android or Apple?

Happens across different devices?

Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router and satellites been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
