Slow Orbi RBR750 Speeds

I have 1gb internet with Comcast. With my Orbi mesh router and satellite I have always got 850-950 mbps dl speeds. Last week my speeds dropped to 80-100 mbps. After power cycling router and modem, the speeds go back up to 850-950, however shortly after they reduce back down to 80-100. Very frustrating since I’m paying for 1gb service! Any help or recommendations would be much appreciated.

Re: Slow Orbi RBR750 Speeds

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

What devices are you using to speed test with? Both wired and wireless?

How many RBS are deployed?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Smart Parental Controls or Circle, Traffic Meter.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

I would power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute. Factory reset the Orbi router and power it off. Power ON the ISP modem and let it sync. Then power ON the Orbi router and walk thru the setup wizard again using a wired PC and a web browser.
Press the back reset button for 15 seconds then release.

Re: Slow Orbi RBR750 Speeds

I have the 753 system (750 router and two satellites) with Comcast (Xfinity). We have the 800/20 plan but typically get around 920/25 (wired and close to on WiFi). However, we use our own modem and not the Comcast-suppled gateway. Speeds are consistent and reliable. The two satellites upstairs are hard wired with over 100' of solid copper core CAT-6 cabling. Zero issues. Firmware is the current version.

I'd suspect the Comcast gateway if you've done the other methods suggested for the Orbi.
