What port to open on tp-link router to login to Orbi router RBR750
Hello,
I appreciate help from someone more versed on networking than I.
I have an Orbi mesh system, the RBR750 (one router, two satellites). The Orbi router is connected to a LAN port in a tp-link ER605. I have two ISPs, and use the ER605 for internet redundancy.
When connected directly to the Orbi, I can login to it using the phone app or the orbi login web site. But when tryin to connect remotely, the app and the portal say that my Orbi is offline. I can access other devices connected to the orbi with their apps (e.g. webcams) but not the Orbi router.
I want to implement a NAT rule to forward the traffic to the Orbi, but I don't know what ports (external and internal) should I open in the tp-link to allow the login traffic.
Thank in advance.

An interesting situation. I believe there may be two solutions.
First a comment: Netgear does not support access to the Orbi web management through the WAN connection.
One solution is to use the Anywhere Access feature of the Orbi 'app'. This is found on the Settings Menu when the Orbi app is connected locally to the Orbi LAN. Once enabled, Anywhere Access can be used from "anywhere". Just like all those other Internet of Things devices, the Orbi router opens a connection to the Netgear Cloud. The app then logs into the Cloud from "anywhere" and uses the owner's credentials to access that already opened connection to the router.
Can you please check that Anywhere Access is enabled?
The second method is to enable OpenVPN Host on the Orbi router. This allows OpenVPN clients anywhere on the internet to create a VPN tunnel through the internet to the Orbi LAN. Once a device has connected to the LAN, then it can access the Orbi web interface as usual, employing the LAN IP address of the router.
By default, OpenVPN uses TCP or UDP port 12973 for tun ("tunnel") access to the OpenVPN server and port 12974 for tap ("level 2 network tap") Smartphone OpenVPN software only uses tun connections, as does version 3 of the Mac and Windows versions.
So, to answer the specific question, TCP/UDP ports 12973 and 12974 need to be forwarded through the TP-Link ER605 to the WAN IP address of the Orbi router. (Or, if you elect to use other ports, forward whatever ports are actually in use.)
I should point out that OpenVPN is not a trivial undertaking. Given that the ER605 has already been incorporated into the network, this may be an enjoyable task.
Hope this helps.
