WiFi 6E when?
Do you think it would support 160Mhz instead of RBR850 supports only 80Mhz for clients with 6Ghz?

Re: WiFi 6E when?
Current Orbi AX doesn't support 6E, will be new chipset and HW.

Re: WiFi 6E when?
So I hope Netgear will launch Orbi 6E soon too.

Re: WiFi 6E when?
Might be good, though nothing on the client side that supporting of 6E as of yet.
I would avoid anything TP-LInk.
Good Luck.

Re: WiFi 6E when?
As RBR50 and RBR850 used Qualcomm.
I can’t wait for Orbi 6E from it.

Re: WiFi 6E when?
I would expect anything until maybe later this year or next. Orbi AX 6 is on NGs mind currently. I presume maybe some early development at some level but won't be anything until later on. Would need some beta testing as well before going to market. Just nothing on the client side for supporting it right now. Like AX was past year or two. AX is just getting going and seems to be getting a good running start. 6E will be complete new HW.

Re: WiFi 6E when?
Right, but 6E is part of AX, it will use 6Ghz.
So do you think there will be major firmware changes?
Netgear annonced it will support WiFi 6E.
Two major router companies, Linksys and Netgear, have signaled
that they’re on board. And Apple previously said the
FCC’s approval “sets the course for the next generation of Wi-Fi networks.”
Massive Capacity
Industry-leading 16-stream Wi-Fi 6E offering with full 8-streams
available for legacy 5GHz traffic.

Re: WiFi 6E when?
I read an article not too long ago about a manufacturer asking the FCC to do WiFi7 testing. I wouldn't be surprised if WiFi now doesn't follow computing porcessor evolution. With a Speed/Level Doubling every 18 months. But now that processor dev is in the single digit nm area, it's slowing. But WiFi is all Blue Sky . . .

Re: WiFi 6E when?
And were just getting 2.5Gb on the WAN port now. Still waiting on the LAN side. Though CPU capasity and processing will be needed for that as time goes on.

Re: WiFi 6E when?
Yes, it will be pricey, but will also push the competition.
WiFi 6E is getting closer now.

Re: WiFi 6E when?
Someone sent me a message about intel AX210 being released in China. Still nothing majorly else where. I would wait till next year for 6E and even then, will be beyond that before lots of items being marketed. I thought I saw Asus coming up with a router with 6E as well. Orbi AX will not see 6E. Requires new HW.

Look like it so far:

To add to Mr. Furryes' Wiki Post: IEEE_802.11ax
Although, excerpt from the above: "The 802.11ax (WiFi6) standard is expected to be published in February 2021."
