an RBS850 satellite has specific password
I am facing a strange issue,
One of my two RBS850 satellites, properly connected to the RBR850, has a misaligned consolde password: it is still based on default "admin/password" (not admin/admin) while I have of course a specific password defined at the level of the router.
For the rest the satellite seems to be up and running and fully operational (except for occasional temporary disconnection that I hope the new but still unofficial firmware will resolve - awaiting the official version before trying)
The other satellite does not have such issue btw.

Re: an RBS850 satellite has specific password
What firmware is on the satellites and the router?
Have you tried a simple factory reset and reinstall?
Maybe the re-sync will update the password info.

Re: an RBS850 satellite has specific password
THey are properly aligned on the last official firmware: V4.6.3.16_2.0.51
I am not willing to do a factory reset of the router due to a rather complex configuration that would be tedious and disruptive to redo.
I may however try to remove/resync the satellite itself, as some have report this as resolving such disync issue. Alternatively, I could keep it as such as everything seems to work for the rest ...hoping the next firmware update (apparentely on its way) would resolve it.

sorry, didn't mean a factory reset of router, just the satellite.
I'd try that first.

Re: an RBS850 satellite has specific password
I recommend that if you can get access the RBS web pages, update FW on the RBS first, then RBR lastly.
Follow the post instructions after FW has been loaded on the units.

Re: an RBS850 satellite has specific password
I didn't try yet but took note of the recommended solution to "turn-off atellite, remove satellite from admin console of router, then re-add satellite)
I will confirm if it works when i find the time to test the procedure

Re: an RBS850 satellite has specific password
I just did try:
- I removed the satellite
- I turned on then pressed the reset button of the satellite until the small LED next to id became green again
- I wanted to re-add the satellite but the procedure was not 100% as axpeced: the satellite never came to a stable white color before I could press sync: it was slowly blinking (fade-in/fade-out)
- eventually, I pressed sync on the router then on satellite and it became fixed blue
...but the password of the satellite console is still the default admin/password, and strangely the router "remembered its name"
So I have the feeling that the satellite actually reconnected and sync'ed in the very same situation. Unresolved.
One hint: I wonder whether the satellite could have connected in "daisy chain mode" first before it switched to the most rapide 5G to the router from which it stands.

Re: an RBS850 satellite has specific password
What does the status for the RBS say on the RBRs web page? If it says Out Of Sync, then this maybe one reason why the RBS PW hasn't changed to same as the RBR.
When you re-synced the RBS, did you try in same room as the RBR when you pressed the sync button on the RBS and RBR?

Re: an RBS850 satellite has specific password
the backhaul status appears as "good".
However, in the graphical representation on the IOS app the link between the satellite and the router is now a dotted line. But for the rest it works find (except for the fact that its console password is unaligned).
Such dotted line seems to be normal and reflecting à WIFI connectivity (versus Ethernet for a plaint line) according to https://kb.netgear.com/000061800/What-do-the-lines-and-colors-in-the-Orbi-Network-Map-mean
however imho it was always a plain line in the past. Strange.

Re: an RBS850 satellite has specific password
Yes, if the RBS IS connected via wireless backhaul to the RBR, dotted line should be seen. Solid line should be seen if its ethernet connected to the RBR. If the RBS is ethernet connected and your seeing dotted lines, there maybe a problem between the RBR and RBS if this happens. Items like Cables, LAN Jacks and LAN switches would been to be checked.
