I wish to supplement my ORBI WIFI6 (RBK853) system with an outdoor wifi 6 extender for the garden. It seems that the only model offered by Netgear compatible with Orbi is the RBS50Y satellite, but it is wifi 5 and therefore does not meet my expectations. I am therefore considering acquiring the WAX610Y which is wifi 6, but I will lose the mesh effect and will have to set up a new network for the garden. The question is: Does the Orbi RBK853 router provide the PoE required to power the WAX610Y? (I couldn't find an answer in Orbi's technical specifications). Thank you.

Search Amazon for "PoE+ Ethernet surge protector". ($18.99US on Amazon) and pair it with an ordinary "PoE Injector" (under $20US on Amazon).
I did not find a combination PoE injector + surge protector device on Amazon.
It is interesting that Netgear specifically mentions the surge protector in the installation instructions for the WAX610Y
https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/WAX610Y/WAX610Y_IG_EN.pdf
I have mounted several PoE powered security cameras outside and do not recall seeing a similar warning on the cameras.

Re: orbi rbk853 + WAX610Y
Thank you for your answer. Does it mean that rbk853 does not provide PoE ?

Re: orbi rbk853 + WAX610Y
That is correct. you will need an external PoE adapter (with ground).
