BackHaul strength numbers?
I followed the instructions per this link
https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/Satellite-5ghz-backhaul-details/td-p/1719529
to enable telnet. My backhaul strength showed -4 but the discussion folks were in -50s, I'm assuming that means I have great signal?
This is relevant copy and paste
"signal strength" : "-4",

Re: BackHaul strength numbers?
My signal strength is reported as "54" (with quote marks). I, also, had expected a negative number. I do not think that -4 is even possible because of the restriction on WiFi radio signal strength.
Is the satellite working OK?
When you power the satellite off and then back on again, what color is display on the "ring light" for 10 seconds?

Re: BackHaul strength numbers?
Let's try a different telnet command:
satelliteinfo wifi
Here's my output from the Router:
{
"mac address" : "A0:04:60:....",
"hop" : "1",
"bridge mac" : "A0:04:60:....",
"backhaul conntype" : "5GHz",
"backhaul rssi" : "-67",
"backhaul macaddress" : "A0:04:60:....",
"backhaul phytxrate" : "975",
"backhaul phyrxrate" : "975",
"backhaul parentmac" : "A0:04:60:...."
}
What "matters" is the backhaul transmission and receive rates.

Re: BackHaul strength numbers?
Here is the output for that command
"mac address" : "38...",
"hop" : "1",
"bridge mac" : "38...",
"backhaul conntype" : "5GHz",
"backhaul rssi" : "-64",
"backhaul macaddress" : "3E...",
"backhaul phytxrate" : "1040",
"backhaul phyrxrate" : "975",
"backhaul parentmac" : "38..."
Looks like its got the 5 ghz connection rate. The problem I'm trying to solve is satellite placement. My wife isn't keen on the location where I believe it's optimal so I need to be able to move it around and test.
The numbers look similar to what you have

Re: BackHaul strength numbers?
Those number look pretty good to me. It will probably perform well even farther from the router (as far as backhaul speed is concerned).
At least you have a 'tool' to use rather than simply, "is the light on top blue or amber?"
