Can I use AC3000 WiFi (RBS50) router as a satellite?
I have an older (5 years old) Orbi setup 1 router + 2 satellites. I am looking to purchase another satellite to add to the network, however I can only find a router + satellite bundle.
Can I configure a router to behave like a satellite if I add both (new router and satellite) to my existing network of (1 router and two satellites)?

RBRs can only operate as routers.

Re: Can I use AC3000 WiFi (RBS50) router as a satellite?
there used to be a way to turn RBR's into RBS's using 3rd party firmware. Not sure if it still works and it puts you at risk of bricking the device.
Better option is to just hold onto it for a backup since you'll already have so much invested in the satellites. That way if the primary router ever goes bad, you're not out a bunch.
