Disable Orbi Auto Firmware Update on MacOS

Hi there, 

I'm looking for help in how to disable the automatic Firmware updates for Orbi on a MacBook.  I've seen the instructions using telnet, but MacOS doesn't have telnet and I'm not that technologically equipped to figure out all the steps required to backdoor it.  

Is there anyone using MacOS that's been able to successfully disable automatic updates for firmware? Life was great after my factory reset and then I noticed that my WFH VPN was dropping frequently and streaming quality was way down and, what do you know, I'm on the latest firmware update without my knowledge.
