Ethernet ports stop working when one is connected to usb c hub

I recently got a USB C hub for my laptop, creating a one cable solution for my keyboard, mouse, charging, as well as ethernet. Once I did this, the ethernet cable for my desktop stopped working, and only functions when either the ethernet cable pluged into the usb hub is disconnected, or when the usb hub is connected to my laptop. Is there any way I can make the ethernet port on my desktop work without unplugging it from the usb hub?

Not really an Orbi question... But,
The first thing I would try is changing your ethernet connections to 'static' addressing rather than using DHCP.
The second thing would be to contact the hub manufacturer for support.
