You need to talk to ExpressVPN for help on routers it can support.
Netgear explains how you can use OpenVPN.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
Check the section in the manual
Use VPN to Access Your Network
You may have done that already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear gave up on supplying paper manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
Orbi - NETGEAR Communities
You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.

There are always two parts to VPN:
- A VPN Server which accepts connects from one or more
- VPN Clients and creates an encrypted "tunnel" between each Client and the Server.
Any number of client devices (computers, smartphone, tablets, etc.) on the Orbi LAN can load any VPN Client they want and connect to the VPN Server which supports that client. (i.e. NordVPN, ExpressVPN.... there are dozens of VPN servers.
Netgear routers support one VPN Server package: OpenVPN. See page 121 of the User Manual:
https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RBK50/Orbi_UM_EN.pdf
This allows remote OpenVPN clients (in a coffee shop, at a friend's house, at a hotel, etc.) to open an encrypted connection from that location to the Orbi LAN in order to access devices on the LAN (including the router itself). One creative person posted about using the VPN capability to make it appear that he was at home in order to access video streaming that was blocked at his physical location. (probably a "sin" of one sort or another)
So, if the goal is to have home devices bundle all their connections to the internet through a VPN, the answer is "no". Not with Express VPN. Not with OpenVPN. Just "no".
(You probably already discovered this information already, but once I get typing there is no going back.)

Re: ExpressVPN on RBR50
Hello Chill25769,
Welcome to the NETGEAR Community!
I understand that you would like to use a VPN with your RBR50 Mesh System. OpenVPN is a popular VPN that is used with our Orbi Mesh Systems.
Please navigate below for details on how to use OpenVPN with your RBR50:
(Please be sure to also visit the links within the KB for your corresponding device)
