Firmware Update Issues RBR50
Woke up to no internet. Looked at support and notice the .104 update.
Followed the instructions by the book for manual updating.
Updated the satellite first, no issues. Then tried updating router twice and firmware did not change. No error messages. I rebooted, power cycled, everything.
Then powered down the satellite and tried updating router using online method. Showed the new version, went through the update process again and still doesn’t show updated.
Now I’m noticing the satellite shows .102 again but it’s not powered on.
No idea what to do next.

Re: Firmware Update Issues RBR50
How are you viewing the firmware version on the router and satellite? Via the smartphone app or the built-in web GUI? The smartphone app (iOS and Android versions) is notoriously inaccurate in displaying the correct status of your ORBI system. I recommend only using the built-in GUI (via orbilogin.net) to check the status of your system.
If, after viewing your ORBI router and satellite via the web GUI, you still have the incorrect firmware showing, I suggest a factory reset of your ORBI and reconfigure it from scratch. Do not use a backup config file to reinitialize your ORBI! After the factory reset, check the firmware version and if still not correct, manually install the firmware version you want–satellite first–and allow the entire system several hours to "settle" before making any changes.
Good Luck!

Re: Firmware Update Issues RBR50
I would rather not have to go through all this factory reset stuff, I’ve wasted half my day already. At least the internet is working.
Do you have to reset the router and satellite or just router? Is there a good link with step by step instructions? Thanks.

Re: Firmware Update Issues RBR50
Press the reset button for 15 seconds on the RBS and RBR then release. Walk thru the setup wizard with a wired PC and web borwser.
Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Thanks for the reply. I do everything through the web interface and have done updates using the manual method as that seems to be the most reliable, but there always seems to be issues with something.
