Help Orbi Satellite Connection Type is 2.4ghz in my RBR20 and RBS20
for some reason my orbi keeps Connecting to 2.4ghz , so how do force it to stay on 5ghz ?
my devices connect 5ghz but my satellite stays on 2.4ghz and it halves my connection speed.
and thanks in advance.

It sounds like your satellite may be too far from the router. How far are they appart? Depending on building materials of your house, try having them about 30 feet (10 meters) apart.

And what materials are the walls?
5ghz can't penetrate as much material or certain materials.

Re: Help Orbi Satellite Connection Type is 2.4ghz in my RBR20 and RBS20
1. Concrete is literally the material (other than straight metal) that blocks wifi the best.
2. the huawei 5g cpe pro 2 is a wireless AX router. Not a AC device
3. the orbi uses the better connection. 5ghz doesn't passthrough materials as well as 2.4ghz. yes the 5ghz might passthrough but if the 2.4ghz is faster, its going to use that one

The most obvious solution is a masonry drill bit to punch a hole through the wall in an inconspicuous place to use ethernet cable to connect the satellite to the router. There are telnet hacks to turn off individual Orbi radios, but my understanding is that the satellite 2.4G "fallback backhaul" uses the same radio as the front-facing 2.4G service. (but with a 'hidden' SSID)
The Huawei appears to be an awsome device. ($670USD) The feature list suggests expanding coverage by connecting Huawei WiFi access points, but does not mention any specific model numbers.https://consumer.huawei.com/en/routers/5g-cpe-pro-2/

Re: Help Orbi Satellite Connection Type is 2.4ghz in my RBR20 and RBS20
I don't want to drill my wall or use hacks.
then i guess i am stuck with 2.4ghz until i find a better device for penetrating walls, does anyone have a suggestion for a device to replace my RBR20 and RBS20 ?
and thank you for all your replies, and for trying to fix my problem .

You could try using powerline or a moca adapter to hardwire in the RBR to the RBS.
