Help choosing the right WiFi Mesh for my setup
I was hoping to get some help with choosing which model of it I would best fit my needs for my current situation.
My ISP is Xfinity/ Comcast and i currently have 250mg download. My modem and router are in my basement and it’s causing some poor signal strength.
I’m looking to purchase a mesh system but I see that there are a few different models and am unsure which would be the best for me. I using stream plenty of Netflix and videos and play a few online games. I also dable in steaming on mixer. The orbi bundles I’ve seen at my local Bestbuy are the CBR40 w/ a satellite (RBS20) and another RBR20 with a wall plug satellite (RBW20). I know there is a lot of other models so choosing one is a bit hard.
I was hoping someone could direct me in the right direction that doesn’t cost me $300.
Thank you

Re: Help choosing the right WiFi Mesh for my setup
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
I would first start here:
https://www.netgear.com/orbi/default.aspx
https://www.netgear.com/orbi/wifi-systems.aspx
Base on the size and building materials will kind of let you know what you may need.
This tells you the specs of each model for Orbi.
I recommend getting the router out of the basement and up to the 1st or main floor for best wifi operation. Basements are not good places for wifi sources.
The CBK40 is a cablemodem gateway with wifi so be aware of this as this is a all in one combination for your modem and wifi router. Some of these work well for simplistic users. Other configurations, you may want a separate modem and router such as one of the RBK series.
