I have my ATT Fiber 1 Gig installed today. With that I begin the IP passthrough setup. ATT Gateway Side: Enabled IP Passthrough Passthrough Mode : DHCPS-Dynamics Turn Off Wireless/WiFi All other default. Orbi Side: No special update beside seting up wireless network. I kept this as a router mode. Speed Test within Orbi App:Upload Speed: 873 mbpsDownload Speed: 486 mbps ATT Gateway Speed Test:Upload Speed: 888 mbpsDownload Speed: 972 mbps My plan is 1 Gig. I am getting what I paid for in term of the modem level. It is when it reach the router that was cut in half, the speed that is. Does anyone have any idea how I can improve my download speed?

Mines on v2.5.1.8 however, I don't have this same ISP modem. Mines cable modem with no built in router or wifi. You at least should see near 900Mpbs while in AP mode. :smileyfrustrated:

So, setting the Orbi in AP mode ... Will both the main unit and the satellite behave as the way they are when they were in router mode? Will the main unit still talk to the satellite, thus, my wifi coverage remain unchange? I guess I don't really care if Orbi is in router or AP mode as long as the speed and coverage is where it needs to be.

Yes the RBR and RBS will will have wifi MESH running. Just all the other routing and router features will be disabled on the RBR. RBS will works as a satellite. I would first test the RBR alone in AP Mode with out the RBS. Make sure your getting good speed with a wired PC first. Then add the RBS later. Wireless speed will usually max out at round 400-500Mbps depending on wifi devices and it's support and design. You'll not see any near 900Mpbs speeds testing with wireless.
