I’m upgrading my current Nighthawk 1100 that I use with the Orbi RBR50 router and 3 satellites (1 the outdoor extender). Could I go up to the Nighthawk CM2050v to use with the existent Orbi mesh mentioned above on Xfinity giga speeds? Is it worth the extra $200 or so? Right now I’m averaging 700 mbps or so, but supposedly I can go to 1200. Any advice? Thanks.

The Orbi RBR50 WAN port maxes out at 1GB/s. The CM1100 modem is already capable of that speed and higher. There will be no gain from:
- Purchasing a higher speed modem, or
- Contracting with Xfinity for more than 1GB/s speed.
Sorry. The investment to go beyond 1GB is much more than $200.

Thanks for the quick reply, @CrimpOn! Makes sense to me. Looks like I’ll stick to the old modem, for a couple of more years at least. Don’t want to go replace the whole setup. I appreciate it- have a great day!
