Memory: RBK43 -vs- RBK33
Can anyone share with me what is the impact of having different amounts of memory in an Orbi router, and in its satellites?
Specifically, I am trying to compare the difference between the RBK43 and the RBK33.
Both systems have the RBR40 as the router. (4GB flash, 512MB RAM)
But then things start to differ...
The RBK43 uses the RBS40 as its 2 satellites. (each has 4GB flash, 512MB RAM)
But the RBK33 uses the RBW30 as its 2 satellites. (each has 128MB flash, 256MB RAM)
What are the impacts of this difference in memory amounts?
I like the savings of the RBK33 versus the RBK43 (since I don't need ethernet ports at my satellites), but I don't want to noticeably degrade my wifi.
Any insights are welcome!!

Re: Memory: RBK43 -vs- RBK33
Performance would be one and the flexability to add more satelites to the 40 series system would be another...

Re: Memory: RBK43 -vs- RBK33
Thank you for your reply!
If possible, can you expand on what aspects of "performance" will be affected by the lower memory in the satellites of an RBK33 system versus an the satellites of an RBK43 system?
Will I see less coverage range? Will I experience slower speeds? Will I see more disconnects? How does memory in SATELLITE units affect performance?
Also, you mention that the RBK43 system will allow more satellites to be added than the RBK33 system.
Can you expand on that please? Is the RBK33 limited to the Router (RBR40) and two RBW30 satellites that make-up the RBK33? Am I unable to add a 3rd RBW30 satellite at a later time?
I really appreciate your expertise and guidance! Thank you for your help.

Re: Memory: RBK43 -vs- RBK33
Performance would have to deal with how many devices are connected, what devices are doing, things like streaming, gaming and operations like this can impact performance. Theoretically you can only have a certain amount of devices connected. Each device can take up more than just one connection. It can take up hundreds of connections to the internet. Having more and doing more with a router will depend on how much memory and CPU speeds will govern what the router can do and operate with.
For a small home with may two people, then the lower rated system maybe all thats needed. If you have a house hold with more than two people and many devices doing many things, then the higher model maybe needed.
You can find specs on most of the Orbi models here:
