Netgear Orbi and existing AV protection - what needed?
I'm using a new Orbi mesh Router with a Virgin Media V6 box. So I've changed the Virgin Hub3 to modem mode only (not covered in the steps on the Orbi App BTW, just found in online instructions), and put in an ethernet cable between the new Orbi router and my V6 Virgin TV box (to enable online TV services - also not covered by the Orbi App). So good thus far.
Q: I have AV protection from Virgin Media called F-Secure. I assume this negates the need for the cyber security that Netgear are trying to see me (with a free intro month)? Again, Netgear doen't clarify, for obvious commercial reasons, that you may not need additional cyber security with Orbi. Any thoughts or comments welcome.

Re: Netgear Orbi and existing AV protection - what needed?
You'll need to ask your ISP about how there AV program works. If there program runs on the modem, then if you have it in modem mode, this mode may disable that feature as some programs built in FW depends upon running in router or gateway mode. Like Orbi's Armor program, it requires the router to be in router mode to be used. I presume Orbis Armor would be similar to your ISPs AV program.
Please feel free to visit the Armor forum as well for additional help and information:

Good Luck.
