Power on meaning no power? Or power on meaning not connecting to router?
If no power, have you tried another outlet? If so did you purchase new?

Re: Netgear obi outdoor satillite wifi extender
Yes we have actually purchased 2 units both new. Now that the 2nd one is having same issue, (light is not turning on or blinking) I think that it is user error! We did change the outlet/power source and put the satellite closer to the other base unit and the light/unit is still not turning on.
Thank you

If you have no power light or top lights after pushing the power button on the back of the unit, and you have it plugged into a good power outlet, then they have to be defective.

Re: Netgear obi outdoor satillite wifi extender
I agree with @Mstrbig . Verify that the electrical outlet is "live" by plugging in something known to work. (light, radio, vacuum cleaner (ha)).
Then plug in the power supply and press the "power" button on the back (next to the WPS) button.
I am a little incredulous that two units fresh from the factory could be defective. On other products, the power button has an "in" and "out" position that differ by only a fraction of an inch. Do you detect different "on" and "off" positions in the RBS50Y switch?
