Now can only access my Orbing network from the iOS and Android Apps using the remote connection

I've set up my Orbi network successfully, one Orbi RBR50 Router & one Orbi RBR50 Satellite using the iOS App on my iPhone. I've connected the Orbi router to my EE Brightbox 2 (superfast broadband modem/router) via the included ethernet cable.  I switched off the wireless network being transmission from the EE router/modem, so the only wireless network is the one generated by the Orbi router and satellite.  As part of the set up I changed the default Orbi network work name (ORBI15) to one I wanted to use at my home.  All is well as I can connect devices to the new Orbi network with not issue.

Currently the firmware versions on the Orbi router and satellite are both showing V2.2.1.210.

Now the issue is with the iOS and Android Orbi Apps - they are not connecting to the Orbi network consistently since the initial set up.  My iPhone did for a couple of days, then the iPhone could found my Orbi network.  So I installed the Orbi App onto my Samsung J6 phone and it linked to my network with no issues for about a week.  Today I tried again and the Android phone is now having the same issues from the App - it can't connect to the Orbi network.  Strangely on both iOS and Android Apps I can connect remotely which then passes you back into the App.

So why can I no longer access the Orbi network directly from the Apps?

I've rebooted both phones several times and still I can only access and manage my home Orbi network by remotely connecting to it via the App!

Is this an issue others are experiencing in the UK?

Any help would be much appeciated.

Regards

Paul

Re: Now can only access my Orbing network from the iOS and Android Apps using the remote connection

What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?

Disabling the wifi on the ISP modem/router may not be enough since it has a built in router already and having two routers on the same network can cause problems.

Modem Combo Units:
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
