ORBI BRS WAN LAN Conflict - change to AP mode

I am just setting up my Orbi, along with a Netgear DM200 modem router. I get the BRS wan lan conflict when accessing most sites. I think I need to change the modem to modem only or the orbi to an access point. I lost my internet connection when I tried the modem only, so would prefer to try changing the orbi to ap mode. My issue is that I cannot access the orbilogin.net because of the wan conflict issue. The app on my phone doesn't allow me to access the advanced settings. Please can anyone help or offer a way to set these up. I have lost two days of my life so far!

Thank you in advance

Please disconnect the Orbi from the modem and then connect to orbilogin.net and change to AP mode.

Re: ORBI BRS WAN LAN Conflict - change to AP mode

thank you for your response. I have tried that - and did wonder what the conflict was. I only have the one device  - not turned on the satellite yet. I have tried to restore it - but that doesn’t seem to work. Even tried the 30-30-30 method someone refers to, but it always remembers the wifi name i gave it when trying to set up as a new device.

Re: ORBI BRS WAN LAN Conflict - change to AP mode

Modem Combo Units:
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router.

Try option #2 and see if this clears anything up.

Be sure that modem and Orbi IP addresses are not the same. The best way would be to factory reset the Orbi router and power it off, Power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute then back and and let it sync. Then power ON the orbi router and walk thru the setup wizard of the Orbi and let it detect any problems as it goes and make changes to the IP address if needed. Set up #2 as mentioned above.

thank you so much for your response. i actually found it is not possible to set a dmz on the netgear dm200 router.  i did find i may have been dim in not recognising the prompt for an actual password when accessing the orbi settings via a browser, as opposed to the login i was getting for most sites. logged in i was able to set ap mode for the orbi and all working well now.
