ORBI RBR40 NEEDS FREQUENT REBOOT
I have an Orbi RBR40 with two Satellites, connected to a Surfboard (Arris) SBG6782-AC modem (built in WiFi disabled), on a Spectrum cable internet.
The specifications are as follows:
Hardware Version RBR40
Firmware Version V2.6.2.104
GUI Language Version V1.0.0.375
Operation Mode Router
LAN Port
MAC Address 78:D2:94: xxxx
IP Address 192.168.1.1
DHCP Server On
IP Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Connection DHCP
Domain Name Server209.18.47.61
209.18.47.63
Region North America
2.4G Channel Auto ( 9 )
2.4G Mode Up to 400 Mbps
5G Channel 36+40+44+48(P)
5G Mode Up to 866.7 Mbps
The problem is that for the past week, I have been losing WiFi connectivity a few times a day,, but everything else works OK.
I have been through the threads here and reset the Lease expiration to 1 hour, did a factory reset (several times) re entering all of my information and settings, downgraded the firmware to earlier versions, checked and swapped cables, frequently "Renewed" the Lease under Connection Status, and nothing has helped. I have turned beam forming and MIMO on and off, with no change.
If I power off with the power button for about a minute, then power on the RBR40 it works great for up to 12 hours, then the problem recurs. My unit is 15 months old (just out of warranty). Alternatively, I can do a soft reboot, and the WiFi is restored for several hours, then stops again.
I would appreciate any suggestions on getting my RBR40 back to being the reliable router that it has been for a little over a year.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Can you please expand on this:
- "Losing WiFi connectivity" means that the Orbi stops broadcasting the WiFi SSID.
A phone, for example, will switch to LTE because it no longer has a WiFi connection?
When a device looks for WiFi systems, this Orbi no longer appears? - "Everything else works OK" means that there are devices connected to the Orbi with ethernet cables which remain in operation using the internet?

- REPLY:The SSID shows on my devices, but no internet connection

- REPLY: My VOIP phone and FAX still work, but sometimes my Win 10 PC loses internet when I lose the WiFi internet connection. Cycling on and off the power with the power button (I leave it off for about 30 seconds), or use the router's soft reboot, then everything works fine for a several hours, then it stops again. The lights on my Surfboard Modem always show that I am receiving and sending data.and rebooting the modem has no effect. The problem is with the RBR40.
Thank your for your assistance.

Re: ORBI RBR40 NEEDS FREQUENT REBOOT
(I hate to be like the doctor who says, "there is something 'going around' right now. You probablyl have it." but......
There have been a chorus of complaints since Daylight Saving Time that Orbi routers begin failing to resolve Domain Names.
When this happens, computers connect to the Orbi, but every attempt to connect to some internet resouce by its Domain Name (such as google.com) fail to resolve into an IP address. There must be at least a dozen open posts on the forum right now about this issue.
The root problem is that something in the Orbi firmware has gone whack-o because of Daylight Saving Time and a side-effect is that DNS resolution is failing.
There is a great post on the forum about various ways users are trying to address the problem:
I am currently trying a solution suggested by a Netgear engineer:
Navigate to the Orbi web interface, Advanced Tab, Advanced Settings, Traffic Meter, and uncheck the box "Enable Traffic Meter" and then click on "Apply". It has been a number of hours since my Orbi exhibited the problem. When I get to more than 24 hours, I will declare it "fixed."
This week has been absolute hell for my domestic tranquility. "The ***** internet is down AGAIN. Fix the damn thing!!!!"
