ORBI RBR50, FIOS & XBOX not working in basement
Does anyone know why my son's XBOX One experiences major difficulty with downloading and connecting in our basement? We have the ORBI RBR50 router and Verizon Fios. We ended up moving all of his gami...

What FW is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between them to begin with depending upon building materials.
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Try disabling the following and see:
MIMO, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

We ended up moving all of his gaming equipment and TV screen to the top floor of our home in an ugly and inconvenient location because it would never consistently work in the basement. We're also very close in proximity to a very large stream/river. Any suggestions? I am in no way an IT afficionado. Thank you in advance!

To answer your questions, Furrye38,:
- I don't know what FW is loaded nor how to check that.
- I think the manufacturer & ISP modem is an ARRIS IPC1100P2 (Verizon supplied)?
- Our home is approximately 3200 square feet?
- Distance between the router and satellite is a mystery to me... We have Verizon Fios. Where would the satellite be located?
- As for the channel, we switch over to an unused HDMI channel. I.e., we access Fios Channels on HDMI1, Roku on HDMI2, and I guess xBox on HDMI3? The xBOX has literally been set up on our third floor for at least three months so I don't recall...
- There are a least 10 - 12 neighbors nearby with WiFi access.
- I have no idea how to disable the MIMO, Daisy Chain, etc. nor do I know what those are... How and where would I access them?
Much thanks for your help. I hope to have this resolved by next week... :-)
Also, we did have a plug-in netgear extender but it didn't help... And I don't think he's trying to connect via wifi but I'm not sure. How would I help him check that? What would he connect with if not wifi?
