ORBI RBR50 crashed wont reset

Orbi stopped working all of a sudden. All the devices connected to it went down. No power outage anywhere in the house. Cable modem did not go down as other devices (wired and wireless) connected to it remained viable. Checked cat5 cable incoming to Orbi using a third device. That device came online.

So, using the guidance on the website, I attempted to reset the Orbi RBR50. Paperclip, amber solid, amber blinking. Great. Unit reboots but ring NEVER gets solid. It flashes white, then it pulses white. The orbi80 wireless network never shows up. The green power led on the back goes dark, while the ring continues to pulse.

I tried connected the unit to a mac via ethernet [to the network port] to see if we can configure the device that way. The unit isn't sending out an ethernet signal either (the computer connected isn't showing an ethernet connection).

I am concerned that, unbeknownst to me, the system may have been installing a automatic FW update (the newest FW seems to be causing trouble for many on here), and I interrupted it accidentally.

Any ideas on how to access and reset an unresponsibe RBR50 would be greatly appreciated. It's a Costco purchase, and so they will cover Netgear's arse if there's nothing to do, but I would prefer to get my network up and running sooner than later.

Re: ORBI RBR50 crashed wont reset

Can you connect a wired PC to the RBR and access the RBR web page at 192.168.1.1?

Pulsating WHITE is normal after a reset, however I'm worried that the back LED turns OFF. It should remain ON and green.

Pressing the reset button for 15seconds is only needed. I would do this with the RBR disconnected from the ISP modem and all other wired devices accept for one wired PC.

Re: ORBI RBR50 crashed wont reset

The led indicator is only stays green for the first minute or so after turning the unit ON. Thereafter, it goes off. It does respond with amber lights when resetting.

As I said, the pulsing on the RBR50 does not ever stop.

The unit's inbound network connection seems to be offline. While connecting directly to a macbook (wifi off the the mac) using an ethernet cable, and entering 192.168.0.1 or 10.0.0.1 the computer returns the error "You are Not Connected to the Internet." [the System Settings on the mac also indicate that there is no ethernet connection]

That's where I'm stuck. Not Orbi wireless network and no Orbi ethernet connection.

Re: ORBI RBR50 crashed wont reset

Ok, sounds like the RBR is bad. I recommend you open up a support ticket and ask about an RMA:
