Odd firmware on used RBS50

I bought up a second used RBS50 for my RBK50 system (1 RBR50 & 1 RBS50) since Netgear doesn't seem to make these anymore

The original router and satellite are running stock Netgear firmware V2.7.4.24. This new satellite has a firmware version of V9.2.7.5.4.

Doesn’t look like a NetGear version number, but what firmware is this thing running? Did the prior owner install some aftermarket firmware and any pointers on how I can tell?

I’m not afraid of poking around in there but I’ve honestly never bothered to dive into the router. I only have the system configured to be access points and it’s worked fine that way for years. Would appreciate some guidance or even just direction towards resources that will help me figure out what is on this thing. I’m glad to just revert the firmware back to stock.

Reads more like a typo https://kb.netgear.com/000065539/RBR50-RBS50-Firmware-Version-2-7-5-4 - about the current firmware as of writing.

Re: Odd firmware on used RBS50

The V9.2.7.5.4 varient is a Voxel 3rd party FW. He puts v9 infront of his FW versions he puts forth.

If you got this new RBS from someone aftermarket, then someone put Voxel FW on it. It can be put back to stock FW.
