Orbi Ethernet Backhaul/Compatible Switches
I've been (unsuccessfully) trying to setup my ethernet backhaul between my Orbi RBR50 and RBS50 and have recently stumbled across a decent number of conversations/posts describing the woes of Orbi's ...

hackwright,Can you run a second network cable from LAN2 port of RBR50 to the GS308? That way the LAN1 port goes directly through an RJ45 coupler to the RBS50 rather than a switch, and the LAN2 port supplies the connectivity for the rest of your home network.

Thanks for the response! Unfortunately I'd have to do another cabling run through the house to support a second cable to the same room and, to be candid, that's not going to happen just to get this product to work as it should.
To be clear, this is a (relatively) new product from an established company (i.e., not a startup) and I would have assumed that it works with, you know, SWITCHES. I wouldn't have had an issue with this being a problem with my using out-of-support switches on my network or it only working with NegGear switches, but that doesn't seem to be the case -- it appears that Orbi has an issue with the MAJORITY of the MAJOR BRAND switches out there, including their own brand. An inconceivable "miss" from a product design perspective. I've submitted a ticket -- will update this topic with the results.
