Orbi, HIK CCTV and EE Hub
I’m trying to help a neighbour who is having issues with their WiFi.
So the story is, the EE hub seems to lock up frequently and prevents them using WIFI calling, we live in a sleepy village with a lot of old buildings so people depend on this. The hope was to use the EE hub as a router and Orbi as access points to eliminate the (suspected) WiFi issue.
They have an analogue HIK NVR which has two cameras wired to ballons (Camera 1 and 2) and two cameras wired to a POE injector with one cable going to the EE hub and another cable to the NVR for the internet connection ( and assuming camera 3 and 4 data). At the minute the NVR has a fixed IP (220) and needs three ports opening 80, 8000, 545 which I have configured in the EE Hub and they can view the cameras whilst connected to the EE hub network. My problem is when we connect Orbi up and try to access the CCTV through the Orbi WiFi, I’m unable to see the HIK NVR to open the ports and also unsure of the correct settings to make this possible.
Do I need to modify wiring to connect the NVR to the Orbi router? Am I best using the Orbi as a router or access point and switch the EE Hub’s WiFi off? I’ve read about DMZ but unsure if this is any use and what it does?

What Firmware is currently loaded?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between them to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?Modem Combo Units:

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.

https://kb.netgear.com/26765/Disabled-Features-on-the-Router-when-set-to-AP-ModeYes if you have a primary router already in front of the Orbi RBR, then it's recommended to configure the Orbi system for AP mode. ALL wifi on the router in front of the Orbi needs to be fully disabled or turned OFF.
Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).
