Orbi RBR 50 Verizon FIOS
I purchased Orbi RBR50 with a single satellite RBS50 directly from verzion back in 2018. I was not aware at the time that Verizon has it's own proprietery firmware V2.1.4.16_1.0.0.11 on these dev...

My owb personal experience with tftp has been mixed. There seems to be a short window of opportunity after power is applied when the router listens for a tftp connection. Too early or too late and it doesn't happen. I seem to recall it taking 5 or 6 attempts to hit the sweet spot and make the firmware load.

Thanks again for your help. I made several attempts to both the Satellite and the router with no success. I dont think you could see the picture of my previous post. it was of a wireshark trace . my setup on the laptop /TFTP client and connectivity is sound. the netgear just doesnt allow for the TFTP connection. I have achieved what i really needed by buying a new Orbi mesh system with additional satellites. Unfortunately this was a costly solution. I still go back to my original point as to why or how Netgear would allow another vendor to put thier own code on a box. This pretty much locks you out. I wouldnt mind so much if i could have bought a satellite from Verizon or if Verizon just didnt up and decide that the dont support the orbi's any longer and dont provide a solution to anyone who purchased through them . Nor do they have people familiar with the fact that they did sell these devices and they did their own lousy engineering buy developing proprietery firmware. The RBS/RBR50 is a fine product. i just needed more coverage :( . I will wind up giving this system to someone in need.
