I’m currently having internet issues with TDS fiber service. I pay for 300mb fiber but keep getting ~150-160mb from Orbi. I’ve tested hardwiring directly from Cat5e outlet to laptop, which gives me 300mb (All the speed test was done on Speedtest.net.) Does anyone know why the speed is reduced through Orbi? And is there any ways that I can get the right speed via Orbi? This is frustrating.
What Firmware is currently loaded? What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too? Built in router here by chance? Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly. 2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode. 3. Thanks for prompt reply. It’s running the lastest firmware (V2.3.5.30), and I think it’s connected to an ONT that TDS provides and mounted on a wall in basement. Is there still Double NAT condition?
It’s hard for me to tell if the modem is ONT or ONR ‘cause I’m no expert. I couldn’t attach any photos here.. no brand name shown on the cover, but I’ll try my best to briefly describe it:
1 reset pinhole, 3 Lan ports (one of them is connected to a cat5e cable), 2 phone ports, and a power input. The indicators including 1 POWER, 1 CPU, 1 WAN, 1 PHONE, 4 LAN.
