Re: Orbi RBR50 + RBRS50 firmware stuck on V2.1.4.16_1.0.0.11
You should be able to directly manually update to v44 on the RBS First. Try v210 or v212 if v44 does not work at first.
Then you need to manually apply v212 to the RBR next. Then manually apply v44. V212 is needed before v44.

And you did unpack the .zip file to reveal the sub files correct? And you tried to apply v210 and v212 first to the RBR?
If so, I would make contact with NG support:

Re: Orbi RBR50 + RBRS50 firmware stuck on V2.1.4.16_1.0.0.11
Oh, s**t. You are screwed. Service providers change the firmware to allow only them to perform updates. There is a thread on the forum about one Verizon customer who went so far as to try to force a firmware update using the Trivial File Transport Protocol (TFTP) which is built into the routers. As I recall, this BRICKED the Orbi.
If the Orbi is not working in some manner, maybe you can escalate the issue to "Level II" (or whatever) and get a better resolution.

IF this is a Verizon branded system or unit, then upgrading with NG stock FW will not work. You have to go back to Verizon to see if they have FW that you can update on there branded systems. NG stock FW will not work in this case.
