Orbi RBR50 router week signal around the house
Hi,
I purchased Orbi RBR50 and 1 Satellite to cover an area of 1,500 ft. but noticed that connection will drop often even if I am 10 feet far from the Satellite and some rooms will have a very weak area, any suggestions to improve the connection will be appreciated.
Questions:
1. How can I improve the range for my devices to have a strong signal with Orbi?
2. Can I add a wired netgear nighthawk and what to do so it won't interfer with existing Orbi channels?
3. If I can add a netgear nighthawk to the Orbi mesh, should I connect it to the ethernet Orbi Router port?
Please advice
Thanks

Re: Orbi RBR50 router week signal around the house
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or may not be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

Re: Orbi RBR50 router week signal around the house
I did all the changes on the Orbi router and seems to have improve a little bit and haven't got any drops. I run Inssider and tells me that my router and satellite are overlapping, Do I need to connect to the Satellite and change the channel or it is by design to be the router and the satellite on the same 2.4GHz and 5GHz frecuency?
