Orbi RBR50 with 500/500 frontier fiber internet
Tried searching but just wanted some quick confirmation.
Thinking about upgrading from Spectrum cable to Frontier fiber 500/500.
Will I be able to continue using my RBR50 with no detriment? I think I would just plug the cable from the ONT directly to it right?
Would I be better off looking at an upgraded router? (The offer does include a Eero 6+ router, but I'm not sure how good it is, or whether I'd be doing myself a disservice by using either of these )
I definitely don't mind spending a bit extra on a better router if it's a noticeable performance increase.
Sounds like the wifi speeds will be capped to 400mb with the RBR50 right? I would be okay with that.
My main concern is whether I would be able to get max speeds on my PC that is wired directly to the Orbi?

Re: Orbi RBR50 with 500/500 frontier fiber internet
You should be good going to 500mbps. Its about the peak of that orbi's wireless performance but it'll handle it fine. The 50 series has the wider backhaul so will do fine. And wired will still max it out no problem.
Whether you can plug it directly into your ONT is more on your ISP that on the orbi. Some ISP's require their gateway to be used versus others just give an ONT to connect to. But you will be able to use it.
