Orbi RBS50Y distance from RBR50
I have an RBR50 system in my house (router and 2 satellites). I want to add RBS50Y or something that keeps the mesh intact to a metal barn 250 feet away. The unit would be mounted under the roof eve to protect from direct rain and snow. Would this distance be ok? What is the practical range? I have used Engenius outdoor products before over 1 mile away will great results but you give up the mesh. Also, is there an additional enclosure that would connect or could I make it from plexiglass?

Not likely. Orbi satellites are typically located 30-50ft. apart. 250ft. is WAY too far.
My suggestion is a pair of "WiFi bridge units, such as the Engenius, Ubiquity, etc. to form a "pseudo etherent" and place a regular Orbi satellite inside the barn. As far as the Orbi knows, it is connected to the house Orbi over ethernet cable. The unit at the barn will need to be outdoors, but the unit in the house can probably "blast through" the house wall (saving one building penetration.
