Orbi rbk50 base unit

Hi, just want to confirm if the orbi router base unit broadcasts the wifi signal as well? For some reason I find my wifi signal weak when I am next to the base unit/further from the satellite. Maybe I am doing something wrong. I asked this question on twitter and I'm just being ignored. The social media person needs to be fired.
