Please Help - Orbi RBR50 - assigning frequencies - splitting freqencies

Can you help ? I have a Orbi RBR50 with 3 satellites. All are wired. I am using a BT modem but have switched off the wireless so only the Orbi is broadcasting.

I cannot connect to older devices. I have the read the previous strings (some of which are very passionate) and I need to be able to split the wireless signal. The issue is arising because my iPhone X is on the 5ghz channel and the older devices are on the 2.ghz so although they can connect to the wireless, if the set up requires an app on the iPhone then the app, router and device aren’t talking to each other ?

How can I suppress the 5ghz channel long enough to connect all the devices (Sonos/Nest) etc

I am not a computer whizz so simple instructions would be gratefully received ? Many thanks.

I had a similar situation (setup).  Ended up turning down the 5g at the router login.  Unplugging the Sats.  This forced the phone to 2.4.  Completed setup.  Turned the 5g signal back to normal.

You can also temporarily disable the 5G SSID broadcast while setting up these 2.4Ghz devices. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings. This should work for getting these devices connected.

Splitting of SSIDs on Orbi is not officially supported.

Can try this as a quick temporary test, disable WPA on the Orbi. See if the SONOs connects. If it does, then try WPA and TPIK and see if it connects. Last mode would be WPA2 and AES only...
