RBR50 Dropping internet connection
Hello--have had the RBR50 with 2 satellites for roughly 2.5 years and love it. Spectrum recently sent out a new modem (one i did not ask for) because they said my current one was out of date. since I activated the new modem--the internet has been dropping constantly according to my wife--who works from home.
the Modem is an Arris TM1602A
Firmware version is V2.7.4.24
I have tried the following: rebooting from the Orbi App
- unplugging the modem and the Orbi router--plugging the modem back in and then the Orbi router a minute or so after.
i was chatting with spectrum all morning and they claim their connectivity has not dropped.
thanks for the help

Re: RBR50 Dropping internet connection
I'm really surprised they sent you the tm1602a.
Its a fairly old modem and is only docsis 3.0 with a 16x4 modem inside.
Not really an upgrade (unless the old one was ancient).
With the push for docsis 3.1, I'd expect something a little newer.
And spectrum makes it hard to log into the modem and check the signal as they lock it down so people can't.
I'd keep pushing on them a bit since the only thing that changed was the modem to cause the issue. they'll always start with "its not our equipment"

Re: RBR50 Dropping internet connection
So they didn't upgrade you. the DPC3216 is a docsis 3.0 16x4 modem.
Not really an upgrade. More of a lateral move. I'd be calling them
