RBR50 - adding a device to the Access Contol list
I have a Nexia Thermostat for a newly installed Trane HVAC system. It is connected to my home WiFi (according to the display on the thermostat) so I can control/configure it from my phone or tablet. However, it does not appear on my connected devices list. I can see it under the Not Allowed area of the Access Control pull down on the Admin page but I can't figure out how to add it so that it appears on my Device List from the mobile apps. I've enabled/disabled Access Control but that doesn't appear to work. To be clear I can control the thermostat via WiFi I would just like to see it on my Device List. Firmware version 2.5.2.4 and it is not a Version 2 router. I'm using the current version of Firefox on my laptop to access the Admin page.

Re: RBR50 - adding a device to the Access Contol list
This may be worth a try.
- Record the MAC address and IP of the thermostat.
- On the Access Control page, Delete it from the table.
- On the LAN setup page, Add an entry for the thermostat using the MAC and IP information.
(Remember to click "Apply") - Wait a few minutes for the Attached Devices display to refresh.
My impression is that the Device List generates more questions (and complaints) than any other Orbi feature.
As my Orbi has always displayed devices correctly, I am at a loss to understand how so many people experience issues with it.

Re: RBR50 - adding a device to the Access Contol list
Do you mean the LAN Setup where an IP address is assigned? Yeah, I've always been able to see my devices listed but for some some reason now, even some of the devices that are connected and working, are not being displayed on the Access Control page or the Listed Devices. I've pretty much just let the Orbi do its thing when I've added a new device and never really had to go to the admin page and mess around in areas that I really don't understand what they do.

Re: RBR50 - adding a device to the Access Contol list
I just checked and there is no IP address assigned, just the device name and MAC address, even tho it is connected and accessible via WiFi. Confused now.

Re: RBR50 - adding a device to the Access Contol list
That seems to be the situation with many posters. There are two choices:
- As long as all the devices function correctly, "Live with it.", or
- Spend endless hours trying one firmware after another until the problem is solved or you wear out.
Every time I get ready to "take the plunge" and update firmware, another post like this shows up and I say, "not yet."

Re: RBR50 - adding a device to the Access Contol list
"Live with it" is hard for us OCD folks to do but that is sage advice that one should follow. I did find the IP address of the thermostat viewing the thermostats settings so I may try your suggestion and see if it can be added to my device list. If not, as long as the thermostat stays connected to my WiFi, I'll "live with it". Thanks.
