Jul 26, 2021RBR850 Satellite iPad Data Usage
According to the network map on the app, our ipad is showing as a satelite with a magenta light next to the icon. It does not show this when logged in online. Does leaving as is have any effects, such as to data usage. Noticed while trying to figure out why we're having data overages this month, which we never reach half of and know we shouldn't be over.

Hi Retired_Member,
From what I know, NG uses an API on their app to identify the type of devices that connects to the router.
Your iPad showing as a satelltie just means that the API incorrectly detected it. I believe this should not affect your data usage.
You mentioend that you see this issue on the Network Map. Do you see the said iPad on the Device Manager? Is it identified properly?

Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Orbi App product. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Orbi App and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this "general Orbi" forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:

Good Luck.
