I just bought the RBK50 and I have Verizon Fios 1Gb connection when using the speed test on the app my DL never breaks 400 however my upload goes to 800.
Is there is max on the dl for the Orbi router itself? I should see parity since my DL and UL speed are the same.

I am tesing with the app which I assume is running it from the router. I was on firmware 2.3.5 and the update was not showing a new one but did see 2 additional firmware updates on the website. I manually updated both devices per the instructions and it has seemed to improve a bit.
I even logged onto the Router with Orbiloin.com to look at the advanced settings on the device and run the test from there but they are the same results as on the phone.
I have run it a few times now and it changes every test my last test was 680 and 720 and it varys a bit each run.... from wirless devicees I 100-150 bidirectional
I will say I see an increased avg speed since the firmware update and the up/down seems to match a bit better. I ran again while typing and was 648 down and 718 up knowing a few devcies are stream in the house at the moment too.
I guess the real question is can this model hadle 1Gb connections as online it says good for home with speeds of 500Mbs vs the new crazy expense model that states up to 2.5Gbp
here is my final setup... I am highly dissappointed in the Orbi as a router!
My performance was so inconsistant, every test would swing dramaticlly. At one point, my sons Xbox was showing 14Mbs upload on our 1Gbs connection.
I put my Fios router back into place and swtiched the Orbi to WAP mode because it does provide good wifi converage. Since then my speeds are solid and every speed test comes back the same.
From the Fios test I see about 950Gbps bi directional and from the Orbi test I see 750 and 850 consistently. Still some drop but good enought.
Because of WAP mode you loose circle and other features not to say that I have to have 2 devices connected vs just the Orbi.
I had a number of Moca devices already in my home and I am not sure the Orbi was worth the purchase.
