Rbr50 firmware V2.7.4.24
I have several port forwarding rules that work just fine. I need to move my web server to another host and to test it's connectivity I set up a rule to direct port 8080 to port 80 on the new server, but no matter what I do I cannot get to the web server via the internet. I can connect to the new web server via my internal LAN.
So far I've rebooted the cable modem and the as a last resort the router as well yet I still cannot connect to he new web server.
I've never had any issues in the past setting up port forwarding, so I'm at a loss as to why I'm running into this problem.
Any assistance in resolving this would be greatly appreciated and if I need to provide more info please let me know.
Thanks
Pete

Re: Rbr50 firmware V2.7.4.24
What platform is the web server on?
Windows Firewall, for example, has separate rules for private network (local LAN) and public (the internet).

Re: Rbr50 firmware V2.7.4.24
Thanks for the repsonse, I should have added port forwarding to my subject to make it a bit more clear.
I'm running strictly Linux hosts.
As I said I have a port forwarding rule from the internet port 80 to internal IP port 80, so I added an new rule to forward internet port 8080 to internal new IP port 80.
It's been several years since I set up my router and all the rules I set up worked without a problem but trying to set up this new rule has me buffaloed

Re: Rbr50 firmware V2.7.4.24
Did you get a warning message when setting up the Port Forwarding that "These ports are being used by the system..."
and the change will not take effect until the router is restarted?

Re: Rbr50 firmware V2.7.4.24
Nope the change went without any errors or popups,
I just changed the external port to 8000 and tried to connect to connect and this is the error
An error occurred during a connection to <my domain>t:8000. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.
