Satellite recommendation for RBR50
Hello,
I have an Orbi RBR50 router in my basement and an RBS50 satellite on my second floor. I get great speeds from the satellite but there are rooms on the first floor where speed lags considerably (older house with some thicker walls and steel beams.)
I’d like to add a third satellite to the first floor and something like the RBW30 plug-in looks perfect except they aren’t available anymore. Does anyone have suggestions for something similar (e.g. small and simple.)
Thanks in advance,
Karl

The most important factor is the type of devices to support in those areas.
- Devices that are not mobile can get stronger signals with ordinary WiFi extenders placed at appropriate locations (which is what people did before mesh systems were invented).
- It also might be possible to run Ethernet cable from the basement to the 1st floor, depending on the construction of the basement.
- If the goal is for WiFi devices to roam seamlessly around the house, then only one or more actual Orbi satellites will provide that capability. eBay often offers RBS50, RBS40, and RBS20 satellites.
