Setting OrbiPro Router : Disabling 2.4Hz, channel 140, bandwith 20Mhz
Hi,
We bought Orbi Pro as we need a reliable wifi router for an upcoming event with 90+ talets connected trough wifi on the same network.
Our client requires that we generate our own wifi network with the following specs :
- Channel : 140
- Frequency 5GHz
- Bandwidth 20Mhz
We updated to the last firmware V2.1.3.2
We need do disable 2.4GHz, to have only the 5Ghz . But we didn't found a way to do it.
The following posts show a solution to disable 2.4Ghz with an older firmware (V1.11.0.20). But we could not find this firmware as the latest one on the netgear support site is version 1.12.0.20 ( https://www.netgear.com/support/product/SRK60.aspx#download )

For setting the Channel to 140, we are stuck to, limited with only 4 options : 36, 40, 44, 48
And lastly : we didn't find any option to configure the bandwith to 20Mhz.
We would really appreciate your help,
Thanks

Re: Setting OrbiPro Router : Disabling 2.4Hz, channel 140, bandwith 20Mhz
1. Channels 140 and higher are used by the Orbi's wireless back haul and thus not available for other uses.
2. 20Mhz channel width is slow for 5Ghz performances. 40Mhz and up is what 5Ghz supports thus router Mfrs may not offer 20Mhz options on 5Ghz. Mostly seen on 2.4Ghz.

Re: Setting OrbiPro Router : Disabling 2.4Hz, channel 140, bandwith 20Mhz
Orib uses 80 MHz channels on 5 GHz by default. No setting to change this.
You might be able to set separate SSIDs by following this thread. Don't know if it works for the Orbi Pro.
Channel 140 is a DFS channel, on a frequency shared by radar. Access Points must monitor for radar and use another channel if radar is detected. This can cause service disruption. None of the NETGEAR routers I own support using DFS channels. Also, some client devices don't support DFS channels.
You are probably better off with a different router. Also, the channel selection might not be a good choice.
The Unifi access points from Ubiquiti support your requirements. They require a separate router and a host to run the WiFi controller software (at least at setup time).

Thank you for your useful answers.
I informed my client and i hope they will be ok for the orbi pro specs.
