Slow Internet/ Frequent Disconnect

I have the Orbi RBR50 and two satelites.

I will be frank and state I am not sure if I've an issie with the Orbi, my ISP, or both.

After using the Orbi for a few weeks, I went back to my old router because I was having issues.

That worked for maybe a week and I've been using the Orbi since the middle of March.

My wifi connection drops every day for a few minutes at a time.

And now, since yesterday, my speed has been 17 mbps- 22 mbps (I should be getting around 55.)

My ISP has been to my home three times now and on their side, they say everything looks good.

My set up is not ideal, but I finally wired my old laptop and the wired connection is getting the proper speed, while the wifi, isn't.

So, at this time, I'm thinking is wrong with the Orbi. The Orbi has been power cycled, I've changed the wifi channel (2.4 ghz), I've pressed the sync button...

Beamforming and Mu MIMO are disabled.

Firmwire version: V1.9.1.12

Please help!  I've been having issues forever.

  • Welcome to the world of Orbi. This has been and issue since day one. I don't think it's going to be fixed anytime soon. They released a broken product.

    Hello Wizard488

we are working on firmware to fix the issues with disconnects but have you tried to lower the power level of the 2.4ghz network some users have said this helps the disconnect issues.
