Netgear does not seem to have a mechanism for customers to modiify their account records (delete, sure, but then there is no access to change it!) What seems to have worked for others is to send a private message to one of the forum moderators explaining the situation.
(by clicking on their screen name, such as @Blanca_O - notice moderators have a "capital N" after their screen name where the rest of us have a goofy symbol). Include personal information, like your name, how to contact you (email), model and serial number, etc. which should not be posted on a public forum.
Good Luck - and thanks for thinking ahead so that the person who bought them ... (oh, dear. you do remember the serial numbers?)
