Speed of Orbi RBK53
Purchased Orbi RBK 53 from Amazon several days ago and set it up on 1/4/20. So far, working well. Planning to purchase new Docsis 3.1 cable modem. Wondering what is maximum internet speed Orbi can take advantage of? Considering upgrading our internet to Cox Gigablast.
Thank you!

Re: Speed of Orbi RBK53
There are several threads talking about Orbi and gigabit internet that you might want to read through.

The impression I get is that no device will get "full gigabit throughput" on an Orbi. Very few WiFi devices are capable of it (if any). The maximum theoretical device connection rate is 800mb/sec. and WiFi has significant losses due to overhead.
Depending on what internet speed you have now and what you do, you might not notice any difference. For example, a movie can only stream as fast as "real time."

I can pull full gigabit speeds on my orbi over a wired connection. Some have had issues but mine's worked fine.
You're correct in that wireless won't hit full gigabit.
