Strange behavioer with Orbi - Fortnite on PS4 working but kills everything else
Hi,
I have bought RBR 50 + 1 Satelite couple days of ago to boost my Wifi speed and it is way better than before.
But suddenly, I couldnt access internet from two iPads and one iPhone, tried from my PC, same issue, then strange thing is that Youtube was working fine from my PC and was able to stream video, but everything else that I tried gave me 'Connection timeout' error.
In same period, my kid was playing Fornite on PS4 without any issues.
I reboot the router and it started to work fine again, it worked 1 day and it happened again today.
Same behavior, Only Youtube is working on PC, kid is playing Fortnite on PS4 Online, but all other devices cant access internet.
I asked my kid to turnoff the PS4 and I could browse internet from my PC.
Then I asked him to play Fortnite again and so far no issues, but I expect that it would come again.
Can't figure out what the issue is, but seems like that it is favoring the PS4 and Fortnite over everything else 🙂
To summarize, when the issue happens, Fortnite/PS4 is working, youtube only on PC and everything else 'Connection timeout'

Re: Strange behavioer with Orbi - Fortnite on PS4 working but kills everything else
What Firmware is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
Is the Orbi system operating in Router or AP mode?
How is the PS connected? Wired or wireless? Wired is preferred.
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between them to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
What WPA security modes are you using?
Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
T
ry disabling the following and see:
Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).
