Switch and orbi
Comcast modem plus orbi plus 25 port unmanaged Cisco switch plus 2 orbi nodes. What’s the best way to hook up.
1. Modem to orbi to switch to nodes
2. Modem to switch to orbi then orbi ports to nodes
3. Modem to orbi to switch then switch ports to nodes
other suggestions.
Thank you

Re: Switch and orbi
#1.
Besure to set up each satellite, one at a time via wireless, then connect wired LAN cable between satellite and router. Wait 5 mintues for the top led to turn on BLUE. The assign a IP address reservation for the satellite ON the router. You can do this near the router initially while setting up the sysetm. Then once all is set up for each satellite, Power them off and place in the remote locations connecting the LAN cable to the satellite and turn them ON.
Also Modem Combo Units:
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router.
