Turn off lights on Orbi Satellite

I have an RGR40 router with 2 satellites. One is in our bedroom. Is there a way to turn the lights off on the satellite in our bedroom. The light is too bright at night.

Re: Turn off lights on Orbi Satellite

Continuous light from an Orbi satelite is not usual. Normal operating state for a good connection is no light. Intermittant lighting from an Orbi satelite may indicate dropping and reestablishing connection.

Solid white. Your Orbi satellite is powering up.
Pulsing magenta. When your Orbi satellite's ring LED pulses magenta for the first time, it means that your satellite is attempting to connect to your Orbi router. If the ring LED pulses magenta for more than one minute, it could be for the following reasons: the satellite lost the connection to the router or the satellite is unable to get an IP address from the router.
Solid magenta. Your Orbi satellite ring is solid magenta for 10 seconds if it is unable to obtain the IP address from the router.
Solid blue. If your Orbi satellite ring is solid blue for 10 seconds, the connection between your Orbi router and satellite is good.
Solid amber. If your Orbi satellite ring is solid amber for 10 seconds, the connection between the router and satellite is fair.

Depending on your situation you may need to reposition the satelite. Also check your backhaul state on your utility. It should show "good". If it is a constant blue light you may just need to reboot the satelite by powering down then back up and allow it to reconnect.

So are saying that if the connection is consistantly good, there is no reason for the amber light to go on and the satelitte should stay dark with no lights on?

Yes. Normal operating good connection is no light. Check the utility Attached Devices and see what the backhaul status is on the satelite. If you are having amber light your connection may be weak due to distacnce (30' minimum up to where your connection degrades), or structural materials. Maybe.

Re: Turn off lights on Orbi Satellite

Thank you.... The satellite does show an amber status on the app on my phone.  I will try moving it a bit closer and see if that helps.

Re: Turn off lights on Orbi Satellite

Great. Not too close though. Ideally you should be no closer than 30 feet away from the router. Stud and drywall should not be a problem for impediments but going through a kitchen full of appliances, or brick or concrete or steel structure could give some issues.
