It doesn’t work for me either. I’ve done the vlan tagging in other routers in the past without an issue.

Some routers support VLAN tagging, some do not. Use can add a managed switch that supports VLAN tagging and set it up beind the Orbi if needed.

- Lon5280Aug 18, 2019GuideI’ve been trying to get the VLAN option on the Orbi to connect to CENTURYLINK Fiber. The PPPoE and VLAN option appear in the config menu but do not work. For now I have a Nighthawk R7000 in the middle. It’s working but I’m getting delays accessing content. Once streaming starts everything streams perfect. So it’s not a speed issue. But accessing content takes a long time. I can see my browser waiting during the load. Annoying!!
I’d really like to eliminate the R7000 and connect direct from the Orbi, but it appears to me the firmware that Orbi need an forward upgrade to support CENTURYLINK VLANs with PPPoE.- FURRYe38Aug 18, 2019Guru - Experienced User
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modemONT the NG router is connected too?
What happens if you use the R7000s DMZ for the RBR?
Is there a router at the ONT? Might try the RBR in AP mode with the ONT alone.
